Kindergarten 2

Program Outline

KG 2 provides a more structured learning environment, building on the foundations established in earlier years. At this stage, children develop key skills in literacy, numeracy, social interaction, and critical thinking, all designed to prepare them for a successful transition to elementary school. The curriculum integrates activities that enhance language development, introduce early math concepts, and foster curiosity through science exploration, art, reading, and physical education. While play remains an essential part of the learning process, children begin to engage in more formal academic experiences, laying the groundwork for future educational success.

What Your Child Will Learn

Language Development

KG2 emphasizes reading comprehension, advanced vocabulary, and sentence writing. Children engage in guided reading activities, practice storytelling, and participate in group discussions to build their communication skills.

Numeracy

Building on previous skills, KG2 introduces basic addition and subtraction, number sequencing, and concepts like greater than/less than. Activities like sorting and grouping deepen their understanding of patterns and relationships.

Social and Emotional Development

Children are encouraged to express their thoughts and feelings clearly, take on leadership roles in group settings, and build strong, respectful relationships with peers and teachers.

Cognitive Development

Through hands-on experiments, logical games, and inquiry-based projects, children enhance their critical thinking and decision-making abilities. These activities encourage creativity and problem-solving in real-world contexts.

Fine and Gross Motor Skills

Creative tasks like drawing detailed pictures, practicing handwriting, and engaging in craft projects improve fine motor skills. Gross motor development is supported through sports, dance, and other physical challenges.
